During this week's episode of Teen Mom 2, Chelsea reveals shocking future plans to her fiance, Cole DeBoer, that she wants her daughter, Aubree, that she shares with Adam, to have his last name. Chelsea says she somehow feels that Aubree might feel "separated" from the family if she doesn't have the same last name as them.
“After we’re married and have kids, we’re all obviously going to have the same last name,” Houska tells DeBoer, explaining, “It’s just going to suck that Aubree... it’s almost like something is separating us because we’re going to have different last names. I want her to be a part of our family.”
Naturally Cole agreed with Chelsea, also agreeing to her suggestion of someday having Aubree's last name hyphenated to Lind-DeBeor. But according to Chelsea's lawyer it's not going to be easy, at least for now. Chelsea says her lawyer informed her that she would have a better case if she waited until she and Cole started having kids. If your wondering how Adam is going to handle this news, your not alone. We can only assume that things are about to get real ugly and fast!
Do you think Chelsea should change Aubree's last name?
Its just a name Aubree will still have the same family name change or not and her name will change as well when she herself gets married one day! So should you all change your last names then so you can still be a part of her family? I think Chelsea tried anything to upset Adam she is very Childish but that's what happens when you have a baby as a teen!
ReplyDeleteI can see both sides but it should be Deboer-Lind in my opinion. I also think that Aubree should make that her own decision when she is 18....Adam has improved his life and hopefully his parenting will improve and that he will have a good relationship with Aubree in the future.

DeleteI think it's a great idea! Cole as been more of a father figure in the short 2 years her and Cole have been together, then Adam has in Aubrey 6-7 yrs of life. One day she will marry and her name will change anyway. So I say Chelsea and Cole go for it!!

ReplyDeleteI think she should ask her daughter what she thinks. If it's what Aubrey wants than I think she should do it. but If Aubrey doesn't want to then she should leave it alone. It matters what the kids wants. but if she says yes do it then they should move heaven and earth to get it done.
ReplyDeleteI think she should let her keep her fathers last name. I have two kids and an ex husband. I also have a boyfriend whos been a great step father to my kids for the last nine years. I kept my married name for years and years after we split because i also wanted the same name as my kids but now that they are teens im finally gping back to my maiden name my kids have their fathers last name and guess what? They are both still my beautiful daughters just with a different last name and they are fine with it. Hell half of their friends are the same. Different last names than their parents. As long as you show them love what doea ir really matter?

DeleteI think it's a good idea, one coles been a way better dad then Adam an two Aubrey is way oser to.her mom an colet so I understand why she would want to do it especially when they have more kids an Aubrey rather call Cole that then Adam anyways..but I do think even if she asked Aubrey if she wanted it changed or not, she would sat yes anyways cuz she wants Cole as a dad..but the hypn- would be good too...

ReplyDeleteComing from a girl that was in Aubrees exact place to the tee, it should be her decision as she gets older. At the end of the day though, a last name isn't what makes people family anyways. You'll come to find that stuff like this is all really petty and not worth the uproar it will cause.
