Reality TV personality, Sean Garinger, recognized from his appearances on 16 and Pregnant with his ex-partner Selena Gutierrez, tragically lost his life in an ATV incident. Merely aged 20, Garinger was moving an ATV at his Boone, North Carolina residence when the accident occurred on February 28.
His mother, Mary Hobbs, narrated the heart-wrenching incident to The U.S. Sun. She elaborated that as he was parking the ATV, ground sunk due to rain and mud. The vehicle flipped over, causing fatal injuries to his head.
Despite her desperate attempts to seek help from neighbors, Mary Hobbs was unable to rescue her son. She stayed by his side until medical support arrived. Hobbs expressed, "He was my only son, my rock, my strength when I had none left."
The Watauga County Sheriff's Office issued a statement expressing their condolences. Garinger, fondly known as "Squishy," was an adventurous young man with a zeal for life. His obituary outlined his various hobbies, from shark diving, surfing to flying drones.
Fans of 16 and Pregnant came to know of Garinger when he featured alongside Gutierrez in the sixth season of the show. The series showcased the journey of the young couple navigating early parenthood.
Garinger is survived by his daughters, Dareli and Esmi, his mother, and his sisters, Shania, Lydia, Isabella, Ember, Kayden, and Casslyn. A memorial service was organized in his hometown of Boone to honor his life.
