Mackenzie McKee surprised us all when she revealed her newly engaged status to Khesanio Hall on Wednesday, just under two years after her divorce from former husband, Josh McKee. The popular star of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter opened up to PopCulture.com about exploring love again, ahead of Thursday's Season 2 debut of the MTV series.
In her own words, "Post-divorce, the idea of falling in love again seemed unthinkable". Mackenzie shared Instagram photos of Hall's romantic beach proposal, marking the start of her journey into love as an adult. Mackenzie, of 16 and Pregnant fame, expressed her challenge and growth into her new lifestyle, having to discover her true self before venturing into dating again.
Mackenzie and Hall's bond strengthened off-camera, while she was not being documented for Teen Mom. However, Hall, a soccer player, made his debut on the latest season of Teen Mom: Family Reunion. She expressed her anticipation for fans of The Next Chapter to witness her life beyond her initial matrimony. She asserted, "I am more than just a cowgirl wife. That first marriage overshadowed my individuality. Now that I am free, whoever I choose to be with must embrace my authenticity."
She compared her relationships with Josh and Hall, terming them as "totally different individuals". She had met Josh at a youthful age of 15 and the duo tried making their relationship work post conceiving. This latest engagement comes as a breath of fresh air for Mackenzie.
As she plans her future with Hall, viewers of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter can expect to see Mackenzie considering adding a new member to their family. Mackenzie and Josh have three kids together, Gannon, Jaxie, and Broncs, born in 2011, 2014, and 2016 respectively. However, as she looks forward to her wedding with Khesanio, the thought of having a baby with her fiancé doesn't seem too farfetched.
